• The ASL App: Created by Deaf individuals, with videos for conversational ASL.
• Start ASL: Self-paced courses for beginners to advanced learners.

• Regional Centers: Contact your local center for early intervention services,
including family programs with other DHH children.
• GLAD (Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness): Offers Deaf mentorship
programs for families.
Start with the basics:
Finger Spelling: Start with the Alphabet
Finger spelling is an essential part of ASL and a great place to begin. Start practicing the ASL
alphabet—it’s the foundation for so much communication.
Practice Through Songs
Learn baby songs and practice signing them. It’s a fun and effective way to develop your skills
while bonding with kids.
Please remember, the best way to learn ASL and understand Deaf culture is by learning directly from Deaf individuals. They are the true experts and keepers of this beautiful language and culture. Whether you’re starting your ASL journey or deepening your connection, prioritize Deaf voices, creators, and educators.
